Quick, hide your dogs

I’m a word guy. A sentence guy. A writer.
So, I pay attention to such things. It’s who I am.
Therefore, when things go awry, I cannot help but notice.
Such as a TV commercial that’s been running for some dog food.
It opens with wolves running through the wild. The voice-over says, “Wolves have an innate desire for meat, just like your dog.”
And the first thing I think is, “Are they saying wolves want to eat my dog?” Because that’s sure what it sounds like.
What they mean, of course, is wolves have an innate desire for meat, just as your dog does.
But that’s not what they say.
I, for one, do not want to think about wolves eating my dog.
I don’t even want to think about wolves wanting to eat my dog.
It might seem a little thing. But it gives me the creeps.
